The youth at Harrodsburg Community Church is without a doubt a very diverse group of teens and pre-teens. Our youth come from several schools in surrounding counties, as well as several home school students, and is open to youth ages 12 and over. We strive to provide the youth with opportunities to lead, study and grow in their relationships with Christ. Rather than simply listening to the Word, the youth are encouraged to get involved in our community, to serve God by serving others.
We meet on Sunday evenings at 6:30 at the church, and on Wednesday nights, we meet with a community youth group. During the summer months, the Wednesday night group meets at the Hitachi shelter at the Anderson Dean Community Park, and during winter months, we meet at the Family of God building located at the south end of Main Street in Harrodsburg at 6:00.
The youth are also involved in several outside of church events, such as mission trips, participation in the 30 Hour Famine, Acquire the Fire, Youth for the Nations, as well as social events such as camping trips and trips to Kentucky Kingdom, Super Bowl parties and other events. As a summer fundraiser, our youth can often be found working at the TNT Fireworks tent located at the Harrodsburg Wal-Mart.
